Submariners are specially trained Royal Australian Navy personnel who serve aboard submarines and undertake additional qualifications to operate safely in the demanding underwater environment. Submariners work across a range of technical, combat, communications, logistics and support roles while also contributing to whole-of-submarine duties such as damage control, firefighting, security and emergency response. Every member of a submarine’s crew plays an important part in maintaining the vessel’s safety and operational capability.
