Embroidered Australian Made Cross Rifle Patch on Blue

The Skill at Arms Badge, commonly recognised by its crossed-rifle design, is awarded to Air Force members who demonstrate the required standard of marksmanship with the F88 Steyr during the authorised advanced application of fire practice. The badge depicts two crossed .303 rifles with their muzzles uppermost and is embroidered on an oval Air Force blue background. Once qualified, a member may wear the badge for two years; to retain the entitlement permanently, they must requalify between one and two years after their initial qualification. The standard version features white embroidered rifles and is worn centrally on the upper left sleeve of authorised Service Dress items, with the top of the crossed rifles positioned 80 mm below the shoulder seam, while a gold embroidered version is worn with the Mess Dress jacket.
