Mine Warfare personnel specialise in detecting, locating and helping counter sea mines and other underwater threats that can restrict the safe movement of naval and commercial vessels. They use sophisticated sonar, navigation and mine-warfare systems and may serve aboard specialised vessels or within deployable teams. Their work helps Navy identify safe routes through potentially hazardous waters and supports the protection of ships, ports and maritime approaches.
