The HMAS Darwin, a long-standing icon of the Royal Australian Navy, holds a rich and storied history. Named after the capital city of Australia's Northern Territory, it was launched on 21 July 1982 and commissioned on 21 July 1984. As an Adelaide-class guided missile frigate, it was instrumental in multiple peacekeeping and enforcement missions, reflecting the Navy's commitment to maintaining regional and global security. The ship, fondly known as the 'Top End Warrior', was decommissioned on 9 December 2017 after 33 years of service, leaving behind an indelible mark on Australia's naval history.
