12 SQN Squadron Unit Crest Patch Air Force
Number 12 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) holds a prominent place in Australia’s military aviation history. Formed in February 1939, 12 Squadron played a crucial role during World War II, initially operating as a bomber squadron in the Pacific theater. The squadron's operations were vital in supporting allied forces against Japanese advancements, contributing significantly to reconnaissance and bombing missions. Post-war, the squadron was disbanded but was reformed multiple times to adapt to evolving defense needs, including during the Korean War era and later as a vital transport unit with helicopter capabilities.
